The Food Security Hub

In August of 2022 after graduating from college, I left my home town and moved to Portland, Maine to join AmeriCorps. I spent the year working at a social work, nonprofit called Preble Street. My placement was at their Food Security Hub, a bustling kitchen and pantry dedicated to preparing and packing meals for people experiencing food insecurity in the community. One of my projects involved using my background in photography. I had the privilege of capturing images of everything that went on at the Food Security Hub. The photos range from the fresh local produce, meals, farms, and events, to staff, volunteers, and community members, forming a collage of all the moving parts working together to make an impact on food insecurity.
